Friends

We've had a lot of visitors since we've been home and Mia has enjoyed getting to play with friends. Here are some pics with some of her friends.

Cooking with Daddy

Mia enjoyed doing some cooking with Daddy while he was home for the week. They made a blueberry dessert, smoothies, and peach cobbler and it was all good!

Mia had to check on Mollie via the video monitor. She was talking to her and kissing the monitor.

First Bath

Mollie did not enjoy her first bath...she pretty much cried the whole time and of course, Mia didn't like that! Good thing bath time has gotten better since that first one!

10 Quick Pics - Days 1-3

Thru 3+ days everything is going great. Mollie had her first check-up today, and everything went smoothly (a far cry from Mia's 1st appointment). Thank you to everyone that has helped out, visited, called, etc. over the last few days.

Now we are a family of four

Saturday Morning

So, on Friday morning we were all ready to head to UNC and have Mollie. We were scheduled to arrive at 8am for an induction. While on the way, they called and said to take our time and eat breakfast, they were very busy....this was just the start of our waiting. In the end, we came back and forth three or four times, walked the halls and parking decks, went to lunch, went to the Verizon store to get new cells phones and finally went back to UNC at 3:15. They had delivered 12 babies that day. Finally, around 4:30 we got in a room. They did the usual medical hook-ups over the next hour or so and we were just kinda hanging out. It was determined that Jamie was going to deliver drug free. She was not very happy! At about 7:25 daddy was still texting, so pushing had not really started. Mollie was born at 7:39, weighing 8 lbs 5 oz, 20 inches long. It was a quick 14 minutes! Everyone is doing fine. Here are just a few pics. We will post more throughout the day. Thank you God for such a quick delivery and keeping all my girls safe!

Update

We went to the doctor today at almost 39 weeks and found out that I am 3 cm dilated! Since I am favorable and my labor with Mia went very quickly, we have scheduled an induction for this Friday morning, if I make it until then. So Mollie will be here soon! Please keep us in your prayers that everything goes smoothly.

Mia has been a big helper lately. She helped clean the hardwoods and helped wash off the cart for Daddy's tailgating grill. Then she wanted to wash everything else in the garage. She washed her bike and Cookie Monster float. You can tell by the driveway that they are all VERY clean! Here are some pictures:

Independence Day

We had a great Fourth of July weekend! Friday Memaw and Paw Paw came to visit, so we went to dinner with them and Unkie, Aunt Jen, and Mr. Greg. Then we went to the mall and had dessert (well, Daddy wanted to go and order a new phone...). Saturday Daddy, Paw Paw, Unkie and our friend Justin played golf and then we met them for lunch. Then we headed to the pool and stayed there most of the afternoon/evening. After dinner, Memaw and Paw Paw headed home. Sunday we went to church and took naps (Mia's first nap in about 3 weeks), and then we headed out to Carter Finley Stadium for our church's annual get together and then to watch the fireworks show. We forgot our camera, so thank you to our friend Justin for taking some pictures for us! Mia liked the fireworks and actually sat outside for them this year. Last year she watched them from the car! Monday we were excited to have Daddy home for the day so we got some chores done around the house and then headed to the pool in the afternoon. We had fun grilling out dinner with some friends.

Mia and her first sparkler...scared me to death, but Daddy was standing right there with her, and she did really well, and loved it!

Fourth of July Parade at Church

Our church had a little Independence Day parade for the kids the Wednesday before the 4th. The little kids got to basically take a hay ride and the other classes walked and waved flags. Mia enjoyed the hay ride but had to sit in her teacher's lap because she didn't like the hay touching her legs! Here are some pictures from the parade:

Riding Bikes

Mia and Daddy have been enjoying riding their bikes together in the evenings. The only thing is that now Mia thinks it's part of her routine and wants to do it every night no matter what time we get home. I'm just glad Daddy's bike is finally getting some use!

Beach Trip

We just got back from a great trip to Myrtle Beach! Daddy had to be there for a conference for work, so Mia and I went along for a little vacation. The conference was at the Marriott Grande Dunes Resort. When Daddy went to make reservations, they were all booked, so we stayed at the Marina Inn at Grande Dunes, which was on the marina just about 2 minutes from the other hotel. The cool thing is that they had a shuttle service or parking at the main resort so we could use either hotel. Mia loved our hotel because our deck overlooked the marina and waterway, and she loved watching all the boats come in and out.

We got there Thursday afternoon and got checked in and then went for dinner at an outdoor restaurant at the marina. Then Daddy went to a meeting and Mia and I hit the beach for a little while. After Daddy's meeting, we spent some time at the pool and then headed back to our hotel.

Friday Daddy had a meeting in the morning and then he played golf. I don't know how much fun it was since it was about 95 degrees and he teed off at 1pm! But I think it made it more fun that his team won second place and he won closest to the pin. Mia and I went to the pool at our hotel that morning and then went back to the room for lunch. Our deck overlooked hole number 9 of the golf course, so we were able to see Daddy play that hole and get some pictures. Friday night we took Mia to Broadway so she could ride the "wild cars," her favorite thing to do at the beach. It rained a little while we were there, but not enough that we had to leave.

Saturday, Daddy had meetings until noon and then we headed to the beach and then the pool. Mia loved the ocean! She even wanted Daddy to take her out to the deeper part. That night, we joined him for a dinner reception. We had a new first while we were there. Mia had to go potty, where she wants to go by herself now. I was in the stall next to her and she says (where everyone could hear): "I'm not wearing any underwear." I asked her why she wasn't wearing any underwear and she just said, "I forgot." As everyone else is snickering in the bathroom, I asked her if she was at least wearing her bloomers that went with her dress and she said yes, so I was happy about that. Guess we'll have to start checking her for underwear now!

Sunday we packed up and headed home. I had to be back to sing with our choir in a musical with Charles Billingsley. We got back around 3pm and I had to be there at 4:45 pm. I managed to stand the whole 1.5 hours of the musical. I thought I did pretty well for being 36.5 weeks pregnant. And we were glad that Mollie didn't come while we were at the beach!
