Asheville Trip

We just got back from a weekend trip to Asheville to celebrate Aunt Jen's 30th birthday!  We left Thursday afternoon and came home Sunday.  We rented a house up on the mountain, which was really cool.  Friday we went to Biltmore.  We were afraid that Mia would be bored, but she loved it!  We ended up spending the whole day there, and I mean the whole day!  We got our money's worth, that is for sure.  Everyone was exhausted, but it was a great day.  Friday night, the guys went to the grocery store and on the way out, they saw a huge black bear!  It was at the stop sign right in someone's front yard.  I think it shook them up because they got in the house very quickly when they got home.  Saturday, the guys played golf and the girls just hung out at the house.  Then after they got back, we walked around downtown and ate at a really good restaurant called The Tupelo Honey Cafe.  Then we went back to the house and had a little birthday party for Aunt Jen.  We had cookie cake and she opened her gifts.  Sunday we headed home.  I hope Aunt Jen had as much fun as we did celebrating her birthday!

We are heading out of town again this weekend.  We are going to the beach for a few days to celebrate Grandma's 60th birthday.

Here are a LOT of pictures from our trip.  Sorry, I couldn't pick just a few so this will be picture heavy.  i might even have to blow a few of them up.  Mollie wasn't too into taking pictures, but Mia was all about it, so there are more of her....

Parent Tea

Mia had her last school program of the year last week...the Parent tea.  Her class sang three songs and then we had snacks.  I can't believe she is done with another year!  Next year will be her last year (since she has an October birthday, she is always one of the oldest) in preschool, and then she'll start Kindergarten!

DSC 0154One of the songs they sang was "Bringing Home a Baby Bumblebee"...."Oh, I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee...won't my mommy be so proud of me, oh I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee...Ouch, it stung me!  Oh, I'm squishing up my baby bumblebee...won't my mommy be so proud of me, oh I'm squishing up my baby bumblebee...Eww!  it's all over me!

Zoo Trip

We made a trip to the zoo and met up with our friend Reese and her girls, Addison and Sydney.  They moved to Charlotte last year, so it was nice to see them.  The girls had a ball together and enjoyed running around.  I think they had more fun playing with each other than they did seeing the animals!  Mollie and Sydney did great too!  This reminds me, for all our Asheboro friends, I want to tell you that we are getting a Sir Pizza right down the road from us!  Woo hoo!  Now we can have it anytime we want, and not just when we go to Asheboro for visits.  I know you're jealous!

Baby Dedication and Mother's Day

I had a great Mother's Day!  I got to spend it with family, and we also dedicated Mollie that day at church.  Our church doesn't christen since that won't save them...we just pledge to teach our children about Jesus to the best of our ability, and then hopefully they will accept him one day on their own.  That is my prayer for my girls.

After the dedication, everyone came over to the house and had bbq that Daddy had smoked.  We all had a fun day.  On top of that, Daddy and the girls got me some really good gifts!  I got a cleaning lady!  That is the best gift ever since I can't seem to keep the house clean anymore.  They could have stopped at that, but they also got me a gift card to the spa and a shopping gift card.

Here are some pictures of the day:
